William Scheidegger

Bill brings a unique blend of technical expertise and a deep commitment to community service. He served two terms in the U.S. Air Force, where he started his diverse career that includes maintaining F-16 aircraft, developing satellite communication solutions including Blue Force Tracking systems, and designing healthcare management software to support meeting JCAHO standards. He is currently a technical leader at a Fortune 500 financial services company, where he supports the customer management system delivering over a million Digital and Physical communications daily including accessible formats.

 

Since the 2014-2015 FTC Cascade Effect season, Bill has applied his skills and leadership to the FIRST Robotics community. As a dedicated volunteer, he has served as a Head Referee for multiple State and Regional events, and at every FIRST Championship from 2017 to 2025. He was also the Head Referee for the 2022-2023 Romanian Nationals. He was named the 2023-2024 Texas State FTC Volunteer of the Year and has been presented with the President’s Lifetime Achievement award for his more than 4,500 hours of service. Bill embodies the spirit of giving back to the community.
